The Las Vegas Wranglers won 3-2 in overtime over the Stockton Thunder tonight to wrap up a five-game road series with a 4-1-0 record.

Stockton took an early lead in the first on a goal from left wing Philippe Cornet just 3:14 into the game. The Wranglers tied it up 1-1 on defenseman and team captain Mike Madill’s first goal of the season with five minutes remaining in the period, but the Thunder regained the one-goal lead with a power play goal from right wing Yannick Riendeau late in the second.

The 2-1 score held until midway through the third, when Wranglers right wing Sean Wiles tallied the game-tying goal with eight minutes left in regulation. Overtime was forced for the third road game of the series, and with 1:04 left before a shootout, left wing Adam Hughesman netted the game-winning goal for Las Vegas in the 3-2 victory.

The Wranglers start a five-game home series tomorrow at 2:05 p.m. against the Idaho Steelheads, where fans can skate with the team for free after the game. On Tuesday, Jan. 1, the team will host the Indoor Winter Classic against the Ontario Reign, featuring mild breezes and a chance of snow, at 2:05 p.m.
