The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today that forward Sean Wiles has re-signed with the team and will be back for the upcoming season.

Wiles, 25, collected 20 points (11 goals, 9 assists) in 41 games for Las Vegas last season, and tacked on an additional two assists during the playoffs. The Beloit, Wisc. native made his professional debut with the Wranglers after four years (2007-11) at the University of Alaska, Anchorage, where he tallied 48 points (22 goals, 26 assists) in 111 games. Before college, the 6-foot-3, 203-pound forward recorded 32 points over two seasons (2005-07) with the United States Hockey League’s Tri-City Storm.

“Sean is a big power forward who was a big factor for us down the stretch,” said Wranglers Head Coach and General Manager Ryan Mougenel. “He’s a player with unlimited potential, and when he plays with jam and bite, he will be a force for us. I look forward to seeing Sean develop into the player I know he can be.”

With the addition of Wiles, the Wranglers’ training camp roster now includes eight players. He joins goaltender Mitch O’Keefe, defenseman Bretton Stamler and Eric Springer, and forwards Chris Francis, Scott Campbell, Joe Schiller and Locke Jillson in suiting up for Las Vegas this season.

“I’m excited to return because Vegas is a great sports city, and we have the best fans,” said Wiles. “The organization is top notch, and I’m looking forward to building on last year’s success both personally and as a team.”

The Wranglers will face the Stockton Thunder in the team’s 2012-13 home opener on Friday, Oct. 19, at 7:05 p.m. A preseason game against the Ontario Reign takes place on Thursday, Oct. 4, at 7:05 p.m., and tickets are available by calling the Wranglers front office at (702) 471-PUCK.
