The Las Vegas Wranglers fell 4-2 to the Stockton Thunder tonight, wrapping up a three-game road series for a 25-13-4 overall record.
Stockton took an early lead on goals from center Chris Doyle and right wing Matt Foy. Just nine minutes into the game, the Thunder had a 2-0 lead. On a power play late in the first, Wranglers forward Sean Wiles put Las Vegas on the board to end the period 2-1. The lone goal of the second frame was scored by Thunder left wing Jordan Fulton, giving Stockton a 3-1advantage even after being outshot 38-8 by the Wranglers.
Less than four minutes into the final frame, Wranglers center Eric Lampe netted a shorthanded goal to make it a one-goal game. With Wranglers goaltender Joe Fallon pulled in the last minutes of play, Thunder right wing Bretton Cameron secured an empty-net goal for the 4-2 win, giving Stockton two wins in the three-game series.
The Wranglers head to Colorado next to play the Eagles in another three-game road series. Las Vegas returns home to face the Alaska Aces in a three-game series on Thursday, Feb. 2. Tonight’s full box score can be found here.
