The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today that left wing Josh Lunden has been loaned to the American Hockey League’s St. John’s IceCaps for his second stint with the team this season.
Lunden, 26, recently returned to the Wranglers after collecting an assist in six games (Jan. 12 -23) with the IceCaps. In three road games with Las Vegas before his trip back to St. John’s, the 6-foot-2, 202-pound left wing recorded a goal and two assists this past weekend, giving him seven goals and 19 points in 24 games with the Wranglers overall this year. Originally from Coquitlam, British Columbia, Lunden opened the season in training camp with the IceCaps, and was called up to the team twice last year between AHL stints with the Peoria Rivermen and Houston Aeros as well.
The Wranglers play the Utah Grizzlies on Wednesday, Feb. 13, before returning home for two games against the Idaho Steelheads starting Friday, Feb. 15, at 7:05 p.m. On Sunday, Feb. 17, the team hosts the second annual Wranglers Midnight Circus, which will feature live aerial and contortionist acts on the concourse and ice as the puck drops at 11:59 p.m.
