The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today that center Scott Campbell has agreed to terms with the team and will be returning to Las Vegas for the 2012-13 season.
Campbell, 26, recorded 31 points (15 goals, 16 assists) in his rookie season with Las Vegas last year, and added another 10 points (8 goals, 2 assists) to his tally during the playoffs. The 6’2’’, 210-pound center also earned two call-ups to the AHL, appearing in games for the Rochester Americans and the Texas Stars. A native of Navan, Ontario, Campbell spent four seasons (2007-10) at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where he collected 85 points (39 goals, 46 assists) in 126 games and was named captain of the team his senior year.
“Scott is one of the most complete players I have seen at the ECHL level,” said Wranglers Head Coach and General Manager Ryan Mougenel. “He will be counted on offensively as well as being a leader. I’m very excited to have Scott back in the mix as he was a huge reason for our success last year.”
The Wranglers will face the Stockton Thunder in the team’s 2012-13 home opener on Friday, Oct. 19, at 7:05 p.m. A preseason game against the Ontario Reign takes place on Thursday, Oct. 4, at 7:05 p.m., with tickets available by calling the Wranglers front office at (702) 471-PUCK.
