Former Wrangler Signs Contract with Rockford

Kyle Hagel, formerly of the Las Vegas Wranglers, was signed to a contract with the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL on Tuesday.

Hagel spent the majority of his 2009-10 season with the Wranglers, where he scored seven goals and added eight assists for 15 points in 42 games played.  He also racked up 77 penalty minutes during his tenure with Las Vegas.  Hagel is familiar with Rockford as well, having appeared in nine games with the IceHogs in 2009-10.

Kyle credited his success to his time spent with the Wranglers.

“I loved playing in Las Vegas,” Hagel said. “It was a great team, I had a fun year and an awesome coach, and my time there helped me to get this opportunity.”

Head Coach/GM Ryan Mougenel expressed his congratulations to Hagel, saying, “I am extremely happy and proud of Kyle. He is a testament of how hard work and commitment can get you to the next level. Kyle is a special player and an amazing teammate and I’m excited that he is going to a first class organization in Rockford.  We wish him continued success.”
