Coming off a series of road wins where he notched his league-leading 23rd win for the Las Vegas Wranglers, goaltender Joe Fallon has been named the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Jan. 23-29.

Fallon, who turns 27 tomorrow, opened up a three-game road series against the Colorado Eagles this past weekend with 24 saves and a 3-2 overtime win on Wednesday, Jan. 25. He secured his third shutout of the season on Friday night with 26 saves for a 5-0 win, and swept the series with 28 saves and a 6-2 victory over the Eagles on Saturday night. The Bemidji, Minn. native ended the week with a 3-0-0 record, a 1.30 goals-against average and a .951 save percentage.

The 6’2’’, 190-pound goalie currently leads the ECHL in minutes played (2,127) and wins (23) while ranking second in saves (910) and seventh in goals-against average (2.48). His win on Saturday night marked his 14th appearance in net in a row for the Wranglers, going 10-3-0 during his starts in that streak.

Fallon’s next start will be his 100th career ECHL game, likely to take place during this weekend’s three-game series against defending Kelly Cup champions, the Alaska Aces, starting on Thursday, Feb. 2. His next win will be his 60th in the ECHL.
